Principles of the IMMERSE Program

  • IMMERSE is a program to support undergraduate research.
  • IMMERSE originally stood for 'Intensive Mentoring and Micro-Electronics Research for Students in Engineering' but the program has since been adapted to include various disciplines in Electrical and Computer Engineering
  • Undergraduate students are paid as researchers and trained through one-on-one interaction with faculty and experienced students
  • Students are embedded into existing research groups and then given independent projects
  • Student research projects span the various areas of Electrical and Computer Engineering including MEMS, Signal Processing, Solid-state Devices, and Computer Engineering
